Terrain & Scouting Report

A high-traffic recreation area located on the western shore of the Allegheny Reservoir, just south of the New York border. It features a boat launch and a 45-foot accessible fishing pier, serving as a primary gateway to the northern reaches of the reservoir.

Recommended Tactics

The "Reservoir Shoreline" approach. For hunters, use the boat launch to access the roadless shoreline tracts to the north and south that are otherwise inaccessible. Focus on the steep oak-heavy points that drop directly into the water. For anglers, the fishing pier is a hotspot for late-evening walleye. Use the river eddies and the lee side of the points during high water or when the main body of the reservoir begins to freeze.
