American Crow

Appearance & Identification

Jet-black plumage, heavy bill, and a square-shaped tail (smaller than a Raven).

Preferred Habitat

Open hardwoods, agricultural valleys, and suburban edges.

Seasonal Behavior

Highly social and opportunistic. They use sentries to watch for predators while the "murder" feeds.

Electronic calling using "Crow and Owl" or "Crow Distress" sounds. Use high-volume decoys to trigger their mobbing instinct.
