Appearance & Identification
Stocky, brown rodent with coarse fur and a short, bushy tail.
Preferred Habitat
Field edges, clover patches, and embankments along forest roads.
Seasonal Behavior
Diurnal. Spends the morning feeding and the sunny afternoon sunning on rocks or logs near their burrow.
Recommended Tactics
Long-range glassing of clover fields and "edges." A flat-shooting varmint rifle (.22-250 or .223) is the traditional choice.

Also known as the "Whistle Pig" because of the sharp, high-pitched alarm whistle they give when threatened.
